October 2007

I have been trying to update the picture galleries with all of the many pictures I have from past Gap events. I will also be moving many picture galleries from the official CMU Gap site to the alumni site-these galleries are ones that are from 2006 and earlier. Every year we hope to update our official site pages with only current pictures and move all "older" pictures to the alumni site.

The latest "E 22:30 Update" is posted on the main page for your viewing pleasure. All newsletters will continue to be posted as time progresses. Please make sure you join up with the Standing in the Gap Facebook group and also add the Standing in the Gap MySpace profile to your friends list on MySpace. If you have any questions regarding anything pertaining to the ministry of Standing in the Gap, please feel free to contact me (Jake Davis-jakedavis@oru.edu) or either of the Campus Pastors (Brian Mackie of CMU or Nate Polzin of SVSU). Thank you so much for your suppport and time! Please continue to pray for the Standing in the Gap ministries! God Bless-Jake

Standing in the Gap 2007

July (again...)

I (Jake) am currently trying to get a better looking, better functioning, and more useful SITG Alumni site up and running. I will be adding past, present, and future alumni newsletters to the site as well as posting news and other features as time allows. Please feel free to send me anything that you would like to have added to the site for my review. You can e-mail me at jakedavis@oru.edu. God Bless-Jake

July

Standing in the Gap has grown into two campus ministries. SITG now has a campus ministry, under the leadership of Nate Polzin, on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University (www.svsu.edu). Both campus ministries are seeing growth as we have hit the summer months and we expect to see more growth in the future. A meeting was recently held for various Gap alumni in Lansing to discuss the possibility of planting future campus ministries on other campuses in Michigan; the meeting was a great success. We are asking any and all alumni to pray and think about how they may be able to help with future ministry endeavors. Contact Brian Mackie for more information on helping Standing in the Gap - friesasalted@yahoo.com. Please continue to pray for Standing in the Gap.

Standing in the Gap 2006

September
Standing in the Gap has started the Fall 2006 semester strong and with a lot of force. Gap put together a large Christian concert outside the Towers during Towers Move-In as well as a smaller outdoor concert at the New Gap Men's House on the Friday following Towers Move-In. MAINStage and the rest of the Welcome Weekend went well with approx. 24 students signing up for more information on Standing in the Gap at MAINStage (whom we are now following up with). We are focusing ourselves on practical evangelism and RADICAL DISCIPLESHIP. You can visit the official website for pictures of some of our events as well as for more information regarding what the ministry is up to. God Bless!

May
I've been working on the website for the last couple days so hopefully you enjoy the additions. Alumni, please send some more information for us to add to the site. I will be adding some articles from the current Alumni Newsletter in the near future.

Standing in the Gap 2005

August
Nate Polzin, after many years of service in starting and growing Standing in the Gap, has moved on to full-time seminary at Bethany Theological Seminary. Brian Mackie, former president and Intern Campus Pastor at Gap, has come to fill the role that Nate left as Campus Pastor. Brian has spent the last 3 years in his seminary work, 2 years at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the last year at Bethany Theological Seminary. We welcome Brian as the new Campus Pastor and are excited to see what God does on campus through Gap this year and in the future.

This is the day that this site was created. I hope that you enjoy this site and that it is useful for all alumni and other users. Standing in the Gap has had a great year this year and is also going through refining. We need your prayers and support at all times. Please keep us updated with what you are doing as well!

April 13th
We will be creating a newsletter for the Alumni of Standing in the Gap soon. We will need to get everyone's contact information. If you would like to receive this newsletter, please make sure your information on the Standing in the Gap website is correct or add it if you have not already done so. Please e-mail jake@standinginthegap.us if you need any help.
