Prayer requests for SITG at FSU!

Hey everyone,

So, we are having a day of prayer and fasting for Standing in the Gap at Ferris State University (and for the church plant associated with this campus ministry, The Lost and Found Church-www.thelostandfoundbr.org) on Thursday, June 30th.  We are hoping that you’ll take some time to pray for us as we are still gearing up for the upcoming school year.  God is already doing amazing things and we look forward to many more great things in the coming months.

If you would like to pray specifically for the needs of Standing in the Gap at FSU, here are the “Points of Prayer” that we are sending out specifically for SITG:

  1. Continue to pray for us as we have to do a lot of preparation work for the Standing in the Gap campus ministry plant at Ferris State University.

We still need to become a recognized student organization (RSO) on campus.  This takes having:

- 5 full-time students to apply

- A faculty/staff advisor

- Constitution

We are working on getting all these things together. The biggest need is finding and connecting with the 5 full-time students

2. Pray for unity and good collaboration amongst the campus ministries at FSU.

There is going to be a campus pastors’ lunch taking place at the end of July.  This is going to be a wonderful time for all campus ministers to come together and share what’s going on with them and the ministry they are a part.  Hopefully this will also provide a time to begin talking about how we can work together to in future projects and events

3.  Pray for specific, quality relationships to be made with college students at FSU.  I have met a few students already and I hope to start building good friendships with them.

4. Pray for wisdom on what events to put on in the Fall for FSU students.  There are a lot great ideas for events to plan but, just starting out, we want to be wise on which events to do.

5.  Pray for direction on a location to hold weekly Bible studies on-campus.  When we become a recognized student organization on campus we can reserve a room to use for Bible studies, etc. during the week.  We want to have the best location!

Thank you for your prayer support!  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions: (231) 580-8876, fsu@standinginthegap.us.

Are you a Trader?

A friend recently posted a link on Facebook to a post which contained this video (click here to go to the actual post).  It makes me think about something I was sharing about recently.  I shared a message recently about a passage from the New Testament, in the Gospel of Matthew.  Matthew 7:13-29 (click here to check it out online) contains some words from Jesus about the two ways…two paths, two possibilities, two options, two ways to go.  The video above challenges those professing to be Christians to choose the way of Christ over the way of the world.  The words in Matthew 7 are directed at Jesus’ disciples.  Would they choose the narrow path over the wide?  Would they be wise rather than foolish, staying obedient to Jesus’ teachings rather than ignoring them in their daily lives?
